Actor/writer/director/producer Harvey Zielinski has consistently been recognised as one of Australia’s brightest emerging talents. Harvey is a two-time Heath Ledger Scholarship finalist and a Casting Guild of Australia Rising Star Award recipient. Harvey is best known for Catherine Hardwicke’s (Twilight) sci-fi series Don’t Look Deeper, starring Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame) and Emily Mortimer (Mary Poppins Returns).
Harvey graduated from The National Theatre Drama School in 2017. Straight out of drama school, Harvey was chosen to be the Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre graduate ensemble member for 2018. He performed there in Taylor Mac’s Hir, Annie Baker’s The Antipodes and Tennessee Williams’ Suddenly Last Summer.
Harvey’s screen credits include Amazon original comedy series Deadloch, Love Me (for Warner Bros., starring Bojana Novakovic and Hugo Weaving), Spreadsheet (Paramount+), Metrosexual (9Now), My First Summer (STAN), Why Are You Like This (Netflix) and Get Krack!n (ABC). Harvey’s stage credits include Because the Night (Malthouse – Matt Lutton). Harvey’s first audiobook narration for Craig Silvey’s Honeybee earned him a 2021 ABIA Audiobook of the Year nomination.
Harvey’s debut feature Sweet Milk Lake has been supported by the VicScreen/Arenamedia/SBS ‘Originate’ initiative, Screen Australia, Imagine Impact, the Australian Broadcasting Commission and the 17th Ontario Creates International Financing Forum (TIFF). Harvey will be directing, acting in and producing Sweet Milk Lake as well as being the writer. Harvey was the Director’s Attachment for The Newsreader S2 (Emma Freeman). Harvey is also writing a play commissioned by Malthouse Theatre.
