Curriculum alignment
The workshop aligns with the Australian Curriculum: The Arts – Drama (Years 7–10) by supporting students to use voice as an expressive skill, develop and perform roles, and refine performance technique. Students experiment with vocal choices to communicate meaning, rehearse and apply skills in performance contexts, and reflect on how voice contributes to dramatic impact.
DEVISING WORKSHOP (2hrs)
- Facilitated by The Director of Drama Workshop

MOVEMENT WORKSHOP (2hrs)
- Max 20 Participants
This drama movement workshop introduces students to the Suzuki Method, a rigorous physical training approach that builds strength, focus and powerful stage presence. Through grounded movement, controlled stomping, stillness and precise transitions, students develop connection to breath, centre and energy while exploring how the body communicates intention and emotional intensity. The workshop is highly physical, structured and engaging, supporting students to move with discipline, confidence and clarity.
PETER BROOKS STICKS TRAINING (2hrs)
- Max 16 participants
- Facilitated by The Director of Drama
This high‑energy drama workshop introduces secondary students to Peter Brook training method. Brook incorporated bamboo sticks into his actor‑training beginning with early work at his Paris Centre and continuing through later projects. The sticks serve as neutral, simple objects that reveal an actor’s inner impulses through movement. Actors manipulate the sticks with precision, sensitivity, and responsiveness, allowing the physical action to reflect internal intention.
Purpose of this training
● Awareness of impulse: The stick becomes an extension of the actor’s body, making unconscious tensions or impulses visible.
● Ensemble connection: The sticks respond immediately to pressure and direction, they train actors to listen physically to partners and the space.
● Simplicity and presence: Brook valued minimalism; the stick strips away theatrical excess and forces actors to focus on presence, intention, and truthful action.
TEXT WORKSHOP (2hrs)
- Text chosen by your school or proposed by TNDS
